Hi guys, first post here been lurking for a couple of weeks now. I'm looking at upgrading my current setup and have been considering using R15s for fronts and surrounds with a CSi25 center...nice low budget system. I've also seen the Rti4's and they seem to be a pretty good speaker although quite a bit more.

Is it worth the extra money for the Rti4 over the nice and cheap R15s for fronts? I will still probably use R15s for surround regardless. Thanks!
Front: Mirage Omnisats
Center: Mirage Omnisat
Surrounds: Mirage Omnisat
Sub: Mirage Omni S8 (rockin' little 8 incher!)

Outdoor: Polk Atrium 45

If you can afford the extra for the 4's I'd say go for it. They're a much nicer speaker than anything in the R series. But then if you go and do that you might want to upgrade the center to something that would be a little more suited and better matched to the 4's like a CSi30.... I got my csi30 from an authorized dealer a couple years ago for $200 cdn so you should be able to pick one up, hopefully, at only a little more than you'd pay for the 25.

Surrounds are important but not nearly as much as the center is. The center channel produces over 50% of the sound in a movie because it has to handle all the dialogue, so if you have one that can't keep up with your fronts then you'll really be loosing out on the experiance.

It's a vicious cycle, welcome to it ;)

The 4 are a great lil speaker. I was at one time using them as my mains. They are now retired to the rears. They do a fantastic job and sound very good. Couple with a good sub, you're laughing.

    Mmmm...the R-15 is a very good speaker !!!! don't confuse...but, obviously, The RTi 4 is better.

For me...if you want Bookshelf's with great quality, consider the Monitor 40. I listen in the store, ans sounds incredible clean, loud and clear.

Far better than R15...(i don't compare with RTi) but....maybe is better. Try it if you can !!!! ;)

monitor40's aren't in the same league as the rti4's. Similar price or not.
