hey guys
I just purchased a pair of RTi10s for music listening and I'm thinking about getting an external Amp and using the HK AVR630 as a pre-amp. Whats the best amp to throw into this equation? I was thinking 200 wpc would be enough...am I correct in thinking that? I really like the sound of polks and HK, so keeping the sound is a must. I just want to pump more wattage into the RTi10s to get a cleaner, louder, and tighter sound.

CBL,
I really enjoy my Outlaw amp which is a 7 channel that pushes my RTi12's. Outlaw has some real nice mono-amps, M2200, which will give you 200watts per channel. Check out their link:

Hi Cbl! Yes, I would say 200 wpc is the minimum you should go for. Outlaw is good, as is Parasound, Rotel & several others. Especially if you get them used.
Let us know what you end up getting & what you think of the difference in sound!cbl117 wrote:hey guys

Hey guys thanks for the posts to get me started in my search.
I've looked at outlaw and parasound so far. I'm interested in the parasound model 275. Its 2 channel 75wpc, but I'd buy two amps and run each bridged for 200 wpc. My only concern (besides money... ) is the peak current ratings. My AVR630 has a peak current rating of 50 amps per channel, but the parasound only has 30 amps per channel. Is that something I should be concerned about? Also will this amp color sound in any way?2 Channel
