hey guys

I just purchased a pair of RTi10s for music listening and I'm thinking about getting an external Amp and using the HK AVR630 as a pre-amp. Whats the best amp to throw into this equation? I was thinking 200 wpc would be enough...am I correct in thinking that? I really like the sound of polks and HK, so keeping the sound is a must. I just want to pump more wattage into the RTi10s to get a cleaner, louder, and tighter sound.

    CBL,

I really enjoy my Outlaw amp which is a 7 channel that pushes my RTi12's. Outlaw has some real nice mono-amps, M2200, which will give you 200watts per channel. Check out their link:

Hi Cbl! Yes, I would say 200 wpc is the minimum you should go for. Outlaw is good, as is Parasound, Rotel & several others. Especially if you get them used.

Let us know what you end up getting & what you think of the difference in sound!

Hey guys thanks for the posts to get me started in my search. :)

I've looked at outlaw and parasound so far. I'm interested in the parasound model 275. Its 2 channel 75wpc, but I'd buy two amps and run each bridged for 200 wpc. My only concern (besides money... :D ) is the peak current ratings. My AVR630 has a peak current rating of 50 amps per channel, but the parasound only has 30 amps per channel. Is that something I should be concerned about? Also will this amp color sound in any way?
