Hello All,
Old Polk owner here hoping to use my Monitor 10B's as fronts in a HT setup. I'll be using a Yamaha HTR990 as my receiver (rated 140W pc). Was looking for recommendations on a center and a sub that would blend well with the 10B's. I did email Polk and they recommend either a CSi3 or CSi5 for the center and a PW series sub. Can anyone offer any info?
Thanks muchly,
Dutchtowner

CSi5 for the center !!!! it's great. Particulary, I like the Polk subs..(not the best) but..try it....(e.g. PSW 12) ByeMy current new system (step by step )

K-Martin's got it down. For subs.. HSU, Velodyne, SVS
notice with older monitors the company recommends matching them to the rti line rather than today's Monitors/Circuit City offerings?
something to think about.. and welcome to Club Polk. -
Thanks for the welcome and the advice.......
I was surprised that I didn't get a recommendation from Polk to purchase something from the LSi series. I may just keep these old Monitor 10's another 20 years!!
My CSi5 is on its way.......

Hello all,
Received my CSi5 yesterday and was very impressed with the performance. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit well in my TV stand. I have the Sony 60" SXRD and the matching stand from Sony which is nice looks-wise but not much for component storage. I did measure the space beforehand and was hoping the taper on the speaker cabinet would give me enough room for it to fit.:o
My question is this: Will the LSiC perform as well with my Monitor 10's in a HT setting? How does it compare to the CSi5? According to specs, it will fit my space with no problem.......
Does anyone have any other solution? I heard of a TV top shelf but don't know if one of those would work with my rear projection TV.
Thanks for any help.

You just need to send the television and stand to me, so the center channel will workTschüss

Okie,
Not sure I can do that, I was just in the Memphis (TN?) area last weekend....too much ice on the ground and too soon to come back.

Oh, then I can probably come pick it up from you.
All kidding aside, the LSiC would probably be a good match for the 10's as well. What version of the 10's do you have? If I'm not mistaken, the tweeter in the original 10 would probably be the closest match to the vifa tweeter in the LSiC.
If you have one of the other versions, you might consider upgrading the to the replacement tweeters for matching purposes, although the new tweeters are probably more timbre matched to the RTi's.
The only way to know for sure is to try it. You could always go with the CSi3 if the LSiC doesn't work out.Tschüss

I did manage to find one of those Omnimount shelves to go on top of my TV. It has pegs on the front of it that could potentially scratch the front of your TV, but I wrapped vinyl electrical tape on them as to soften the effect. Other that that I'm happy with the stand; having the center speaker just above the TV does greatly improve the sound.....
Thanks for all the replies.:)
