Stand or Floor Mount CSi5??
I just ordered my CSi5 and need to know how to either put it on the carpet floor or with a short stand. My current center sits on my HDTV, but this speaker is to big. I know this speaker can be set on the floor to be angled up, but will I want to set it right on the carpet.

The speaker should ideally be at ear level so putting it on the floor is not a good idea.
If you can build a shelf to hold the speaker great! If not then, get a stand for it.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -

DON'T PUT ON THE FLOOR. If is too big for your tv, use a stand...same as bookshelf's.My current new system (step by step )

How "deep" is your TV? If you can use that shelf, you can probaby use the support that comes with the speaker. I have the CSi5 and am using the long support it brings...works great._________________________________________________

I have a Sony Grand Wega 60" and right now I have my center on it. This speaker is heavier so was concerned with what damage it may do to my TV.

There should not be a problem if you can support it decently well. if you look at the picture I posted, you probably can see in the front I added 10 of those vinyl self adhesive protective pads; gave stability and help distribute the weight._________________________________________________

The CSi speakers are designed to be "reversible" you can install it on the floor or under the TV if you had to. Rest the speaker on the sloped back section of the cabinet. This will angle the speaker towards your ears. you may need to add addition wedges as need to obtain the best angle required for your room.Proud SOPA Member since 2005!

That is what I thought I read. Polk has a short shelf that I may use just to get the speaker off of the carpet. Will try the floor route first with something temporary before I decide.
