How about this?

Willie Nelson Releases **** Cowboy Song

No bashing intended I just found it interesting that he would go this route.

What do mean go this route?

He released it in support of his road manager (for the past 25 years) who just 'came out'. I applaud it, and I think it's a great song, typical Willie.

Willie's just being Willie! A little outrageous, controversial, somewhat of an oddball. I don't know his sexual orientation. Don't care, his business. I'm not a big fan of his. But I do like his "Stardust" album. Very nice!

Not a Willie fan at all so I could care less about his songs.

    Sean,

I edited my comments, however, I'm going to throw out there.....let's just say, in jest, someone makes a racial joke, what would be the difference. While, I'm ok with going for a laugh, even at someones expense, I really try to avoid stereotyping groups of people, THAT I don't find funny. Maybe you do, maybe others do....I just don't think it's appropriate in this setting. MUCH more inappropriate than making a comment in someone's FM thread.

Two, I DO ignore the vast majority of your pseudo-intellectual babble. I would have ignored this but I found it in incredibly poor taste and would have reacted the same regardless of who said it.

Ned Sublette in 1981. Sublette said he wrote it during the "Urban Cowboy" craze and always imagined Nelson singing it.

I agree, wow all this on a Willie Nelson thread.
As I said before I like the mans music and I will probably check out this album.
Willie has been such a country boy ever since I was a kid and my parrents like him. I had no idea his road manager was **** but now that I do I can understand where this **** cowboy song comes from.
I didn't realize that this thread would bring a forum battle out of the closet. :D

Willie didn't write it, it was written by Texas-born singer-songwriter Ned Sublette in 1981,
he only recorded it, do mostly to the whole "brokeback mountain" phenomenom.

I think it's sad that you can't just TALK about a movie, it's credentials (or lack there-of if that's your POV), or even discussing the freaking musical soundtrack which is excellent btw without someone wanting to bring along their brokeback soapbox into a thread that they could simply pass by.

Tally's got us all pegged, and it's gotten so pathethic that i'm up to the point now where i have to agree with MacLeod.

    Who's tally?

Justin just shuts everything down that even has mention of the movie.....either he just has an aversion to it being talked about or there are people on this board that cry like little girls if others are able to discuss things like adults. I'm guessing a bit of both.

well, it's not a STUPID movie. but I agree it has run it's course. It's become crystal clear that anything to do with THE movie is shut down eventually. Which IMHO is BS. IT's all just talk and discussion.

I find that those threads that feature scantilly clad women in bad form for a forum about Polk Audio speakers. So far I haven't seen any of those thread shut down. I don't care for them. So i don't look at em. I know many people on here like thread of nearly naked women in all differnet poses, and i'll catch hell for even bringing it up. But that's how I see it.
