I was wondering if anyone can tell me of any great/good speaker wire for around $120.

I have an Athena AS-P6000 10" sub
An Onkyo TX-SR503 AV Receiver.
2 Polk R30 Speakers.
2 Smaller Polk Speakers.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Blue Jeans Cable makes some reasonably priced, good speaker cables. Lots of folks on this fourm like their cables.

BJC is good, custom lengths and very reasonable.

Signal Cable also makes some very well regarded cables. Here is a link. You will get a club discount if you mention you are a member of Club Polk.

All things equal, Signal Cable as mentioned. Frank has, and continues to support the Polk forum, buy with confidence.

I too am a fan of Signal Cable. And YES....Frank is a supporter of the Forum (I should know better than most....as I am in possession of a set of Ultras Frank donated to SCPF1). I strongly considered SC as my first recommendation...BUT...mrbigbluelight (obviously a cop - or he works at K-Mart) would have a hard time getting a full 5.1 set of cables from Frank for $120± even with the discount. At BJC it is doable.

Not ignoring SC's contribution to the Fourm. Just trying to consider the parameters.

Of course I go to buy the bluejeans cable 12AWG white and they are out of stock - just my luck!

I have some Audioquest X2 14AWG (which doesn't seem to be popular or readily available- I got it at a Tweeter) that was I believe about $1/ft.

I'm wondering about any possible improvement in getting preterminated from blue jeans vs. me putting my audioquest wire into locking monster banana plugs myself.

Thoughts?? Anyone else have experience with the Audioquest X2. Seriously all I know is it was a big upgrade from some 16AWG monster wire that was probably getting close to 10 years old.

Took out the harshness and cleared things up considerably so I've been happy but maybe not completely satisfied---searching for the sound!!!!!

Rich, I see you are here in MA. Check out Cambridge Soundworks 16 & 18 guage wire. I use it for my surrounds.

If you are a Do It Yourselfer type of person and also enjoy the pride associated with making something yourself, go with bulk speaker cable and crimp on some spades. DH Labs T14 or Cardas Quadlink. About $4/ft plus connectors and some of your time.
