Hi everyone,

I have a pair of SRS2's & 1C's. Thinking of putting them in diff. rooms.(1C's become mains).

Now if I update the tweets in the 1C's, is my cs350 still a match or do I need a new one ?

And which current floor standers would be good for rears ?

Regards,
Jose

I find the tweeters in the newer RTi line to be much brighter than the new SL2000's.

I'm using a CSi40 center and a pair of RTi28's as surrounds with my SDA1C's with the upgarded tweeters. Seems like a very good match. Now if I could only find some FXi30's for complete 7.1...

    Hi Jose,

Although they were not designed as center channel speakers, an SDA-CRS+ is a perfect timbre match for SDA-1C's since they have identical tweeters and mid-range drivers. The downsides are that you would have to buy them used and of course you are not likely to be able to buy just one.

With regard to the rears, here's a response that I received from Matt Polk on the subject. I was asking about matching In-Wall speakers to the SDA-1C's, but he also discusses free standing options.

    Jose,
Try looking for some SDA2's for the rears, they're a perfect match. I have
1C's as fronts, 2's as the rears with a CS400i center channel and I'm very happy.

    Great price. Poor timbre match.

I know, I can really hear the difference when dialogue switiches to the mains.

But Monday, I'll be ordering the replacement tweeters.
Polk tech support said they'd match after that upgrade.
