PSW 1000 Performance & Integration (help!)

hey all. i just recently acquired a psw1000 and am in the set up process and have some questions. first, when i spl'd the system the meter wants the lfe channel at -17.0 db. is this recommended? i have it like this now and listened to some movies that i am familiar with, namely lord of the rings: return of the king. in the scene with the war elephants that sub (with it's own volume dial at 22% approx.) about shook my entire apartment to the ground. it was incredible! i have never heard a sub get that low and be that accurate at the same time. the gripe i am having is with music and dvd audio. it seems as though i don't even have a sub! my lsi15's do a great job with bass as well but i am looking for some more. i have read the article on this site about how to properly hook up a home theater sub and i am currently using the lfe out on my receiver, which is not recommended. if i was to change this to using the pre outs for the l/r main's can i expect a better integration into my system? any input would be greatly apprecaited. thanks!

Yep, that might work better... It sounds like the LFE is only active on DVD sources. I would dial it in to crossover fairly low since the LSi15's will be getting full range.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19
