If Pablo can reports his accidents to the public in a timely manner, surely the Veep can do it. Pab, you got my vote. :p

I agree with Pablo, dare I also say these types of things are also perks of the job to forego licsensing for bird hunting. Let's face it, it's just a tax you're paying...nothing more. Whatever, should have tacked him with a ticket just to stop the kooks from bitching and making a conspiracy out of it.

A SEVEN DOLLAR "tax" no less. What kind of "punishment" do people actually expect? Jail time? They supposedly charged him the seven dollars, like they would anyone else. THey also charged the guy who got shot.

If you or I were caught without this $7.00 tag we would face a significant fine.
Probably in excess of $1000.00 and possibly confiscation of our hunting equipment.

One thing people are missing is the guy was 30 yards away. While thats not a country mile its still a pretty decent distance so its not like the guy was standing next to Cheney. The guy admitted that he walked up where he shouldnt have been without announcing his presence. It wasnt the lawyers fault and it wasnt Cheney's fault; it was an accident.

Also the media is pissed off and has their noses out of joint is that they werent informed and some podunk local newspaper got to break the story. THAT is why there is such an uproar in the press, theyre ego's are hurt.

In their little minds, after shooting the guy, Cheney shouldve ran to the nearest pay phone and called in the story to the New York Times apparantly.

You shouldve heard the idiotic questions the media was throwing at the White House Press Secretary yesterday. The dumbest question Ive ever heard came from some flake that asked, "if the man had died, would this have been more serious?" sad-smiley-028.gif

If I were the Press Secretart, I wouldve said, "of course not you ditz! Then we couldve burried him in a field somewhere and nobody wouldve ever known!"

I don't understand all the excitement over this. It is a lesson in hunting safety that long-time hunters such as these two fall victim to. The lawyer who was shot knew as soon as he was hit what his mistake was. What amazes me is that with the amount of Secret Service agents that had to be within close proximity that none of them had the necessary training in gun and hunting safety to recognize the flush was in line with another hunter and to yell don't shoot or get down. This is hunting safety 101 as far as upland and bird hunting. It's the older experienced hunters that tend to let their guard down on this one. The best thing they can do is to get the guy well and go out hunting again.

The lawyer had dropped behind the group to retrieve a bird he'd shot down. He was catching back up with the group from the side and didnt make his presence known, so nobody saw him til it was too late. Again, he was a pretty good distance off. 30 yards is the equivalent of a 9 story building.

From what I can see in the Texas codes, it's a class C violation. Fee of $25-500 dollars.

    There's just no conspiracy here.

Texas law states Cheney didnt even have to report this to the authorities. Still he did and the local Sheriff, after interviewing Cheney, the hunting party and the lawyer said it was undoubtedly an accident.

Don't worry about it Sky, only guys with chip amps have these issues.

It is just funny how **** size is refered to if someone wants to show their point of view.
"Oh he drives a Corvette he must have a small ****"
"Look at the size of that television he must have a small ****"
"He plays his music so loud he must have a small ****"
"He dresses so nice he must have a small ****"
Always there as a quick jab at something not liked.

    Have you ever hunted?
    Do you eat meat?
Does it taste different if you let someone else kill your food for you?
