Anybody familiar with this band. I've heard about them, but I don't think I've heard any music. Any suggestions?

"Billy Breathes" is a cool album. They're not known for their albums though. they're a jam band to see live.

Blue grass hippie ex-grateful deadheads who like to smoke pot is a pretty good description. There music rocks! There long jams are killer. I went to see one of their shows, and I swear there was a cloud over the stage. What a kick **** concert!

I've seen a few live CDs. Kinda like a 'dead bootleg with presumably better sound.

I think "Live One" is their most popular live album. It's a double disc set.

Ok, this goes in the ‘revive a really old thread’ dept...

I completely wrote this band off in the 90's simply because I didn't like the followers plus I was still trying to hold onto Metal for dear life. Many, many years later, I found myself starting to appreciate more genres of music. In addition, I found this forum, got my 2-channel act together, and started to appreciate well recorded music.

Anyway, I recently did a little project for friend for his wedding and a few Phish songs were a part of the project. My initial reaction was... oh man, this crap?

I put in Junta - Disc1 on the 2-channel and let it spin. I have to say, besides the quirky story telling lyrics, the recorded jam sessions were very good. I was also impressed with how well the album sounded. I just may have to buy a few CDs but I’ll resist the temptation to light up.
