the connections in the back

Hey guys, I went to the store today and listened to some of the speakers I am going to get tomorrow and have a few questions. When you connect the speakers to the receiver you take your speaker wire (I have RCA 14 guage) and split it into 2. Then you can use banana plugs and put one side as red and the other as black. So you connect the red side to the red on the receiver and the red on the speaker, and the same for the black. Now, when I looked at the back of the RTi10 I noticed that there are two red connections and two black connections, what are the extra set of connections for???

There's a jumper between those two sets of connections. Some people bi-amp their speakers to provide more power. If you do that, you remove the jumpers, connect one set of speaker wire from an amp to the lower set of connectors, and another to teh upper set.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Or you can bi-wire, meaning you have two sets of wires connecting the speaker to the same amp. With a receiver, don't worry about bi-wiring. Just do as you said with one set of wires and leave the jumper attached. Shouldn't make any difference which set of binding posts you use, as long as you use the same ones (though I don't suppose that really matters, either).

Now, I can't really tell from your description of what you're going to do, but you're not planning on using a sinle wire for both the red and black connections, are you? It takes two to tango...oh, wait...

Ya the speaker wire I have has two smaller wires in it. One of the small tubes has a white line all along the wire and the other side is just clear. So I can make the white lind side red for all my connections and make the clear side black.
