Does anyone have any information on the subject line amp? I have come in contact w/ a gentlemen that has (3) of them, and he told me to make him an offer. I want to do the right thing, as he is an elderly chap, and make him a reasonable offer.
Here is the Pic, a google search came up w/ nothing much except when it was manufactured etc. But no used pricing.....or retail for that matter..

Mostly a PA amp with a great reputation. It's a pro only line and there are many that were built in the 70's that have been left on since their purchase date and are still operating in the sound reinforcement installations. Would one of these power your speakers, yup. How would it sound? I only know that it sounded great for low-fi applications. I would imagine for hi-fi, it would be bright and loose, but really-really loud.
I would say it would be in the 300.oo range if it was a newer version and not installed in a constant use situation. I don't recall what they were new, but you can find comparable Crown Amps that are currently made in that power range for 1200.oo.-Ignorance is strength - -
SK - That is what the seller was telling me. Thanks for the input. He was using them for "outdoor" use. I passed on them, as I just couldn't find any real good info.
Thanks

It's a typical Pro-Amp...they are all the same, no life, just brutal power. I'm not against the idea of hardcore SS power, but the build on these animals is nuclear, not sonic.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Thehaens- Pobably good that you did. I didn't want to bash them in case you scooped them, but they were what they were: school auditorium amps that would last longer than the building.-Ignorance is strength -
