    Hmm...

Its actually alot neater than the pictures make it look.

The DVDP, VCR, XBox : Power and Patch Cables are all twisty tied together and routed together away from the amp, pre, cdp - same goes for the cable cable...

The Amp, pre, CDP, SUB power cables are all routed together.

The XLR and speaker wire cables share the same hole on the back of the TV stand, the patch cables from the CDP to the preamp are isolated from everything - in other words, everything in the main components are isolated from everything "grunt"

This was when I disconnected my old system (to clean everything up). I feel like this picture doesn't do the rat's nest justice, honestly.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

One of the best 'tweaks' in the world for getting a silent background is cable dressing.

Hey guys, I'm assuming some of these photo's are from HT set-ups? No way in hell my 2-ch could have that many wires. Although I just looked behind my TV and it ain't pretty. Mostly because of all the long cable TV coax and long interconnect cables from DVDp and VCR. It makes it look much worse than it is. Cable management is key for ultra good sound, plus it just plain looks like you care ;) . So clean up those rats nests :D .

Never met a system yet that couldn't be dressed correctly--just takes a little planning and a **** load of cable ties/cable tie mounts (Radio Shack).

Get digital/analog/AC/speaker away from each other bundle loosely when needed. Try to let them hang without bundling if you can (like AC cords hanging down a vertical rack). It's harder with horizontal racks, but can be done. All of my ac cords run straight down from the component, and then is tucked under the rack, routed to the panamax. AC is at least 8" away from my speaker cables. I order my RCA cables to the proper length so there's not alot of loose cabling. My pre to amp is .5mtr; DAC to pre .5mtr; CDP to DAC 2ft; everything else is 1mtr.

Next, I'm gonna have Signal Cable make me some custom length AC cords, then, when I'm REALLY bored, I'm going to replace my Kimber 8TC 8ft set with a 6ft set.

I've tried to keep it "clean", but as components are added it gets more and more difficult....it does not look good right now...

    This "rack" has:

    HT:
Receiver, DVD player and Tivo; Output to 7.1

    2 Channel:
    1 pre amp
2 CD players (One single disc, one 5 discs)
1 DAC (used for the CD changer)
2 amps (one for SDA's, one for Atrium's in the backyard).
    1 power conditioner

    Lots of cables :)

My HT rig, front and back... the beauty of solid back cabinets is they hide a multitude of sins. Plus the gear is all in a room apart form the listening area.

Now if I can just get my CD collection under control...

I'm kinda put to shame here. My system looks worse than any of these, and that is on the front side. As for the back, I've lost whole sets of interconnects, tubes, a DVM and a table lamp that I have never found back there.

i try and keep all my cable runs as short as possible.. except the speaker wires... so i can move them around later if needed. but IC's, video cables, etc... i only buy them in the length that i need.. nothing extra to clutter it up.
