How do you think I am going to feel when I fill up my boat and truck?

    Truck holds 32 gallons

    Boat holds 57 gallons

At 70MPH the boat gets .07 MPG :)

Granted, I expected to pay ALOT more than that, so I dont feel all that robbed, but Ive spent 60 dollars are much longer lasting things...hehe

It is actually 2.25 a gal, but we filled up a Sams thing - so we got a 5 cent a gallon discount for being a Sams Club member.

    Well...

Assuming I get.............. 15 miles to the gallon AVERAGE... 16 gallon tank...

And I live... 1.5 miles from school, and I might drive 10-15 extra miles a week...

It would take, on average - 10 weeks to go through a full tank of gas...

    on paper..!
That fuel milage only works at 55-60 mph on the freeway...if your truck is tuned up and you take 6 min to get up to speed..
every time you start the beast up , it takes fuel...idling it takes fuel..
    start and stop...more fuel

just remember..the gas guage moves faster when it below half tank

Welcome to the start of what us adults call "bills." Get used to it because they only get bigger with time. Might slack off a bit when you finally pay off your first mortgage.

I feel robbed because I live within 20 miles of 4 large refineries and I pay more for gas than what you paid. Now that just doesn't make any sense but low and behold state taxes on gasoline is just killer 'round here.

I cant wait for the INSURANCE bill! ;)!!! LOL!

Yeah, still... 70 days (heck 50 days) on one tank of gas is a LONG time...

And Id still have another tank to go on...

PS: It gets 14 in the city, 18 on the highway/IS

Trust us, sid... you're never going to get to go anywhere near that long on a single tank of gas.

But have fun in your own little world, while it lasts :)

I have a little excel spreadsheet here that I've updated with just about every gas receipt since I got my truck (a few missing here and there that I threw out accidentally)

The numbers? (remember, this is for a Ford Ranger 4.0L...)

Average price per gallon paid 2.169
Average miles on trip meter 269.7
    Maximum mileage 23.840
    Minimum mileage 14.060
    Average mileage 18.775
Total Price paid for gas on record $1,943.26

And that's not including partial fillups... That's full fillups only. Since June of 2004
    Ludicrous gibs!

    for...

    $2,000 dollars I could buy...

    1) Table Saw (300)
    2) Drill Press (100)
    3) Radial Arm Saw (200)
    4) Planer (500)
    5) Band Saw (100)
    6) Miter Saw (200)
    Total = 1,400

    So..

    7) Xbox 360 (400)
    8) Power Cables (200)

    Gas sucks.

Yeah I should do that when I start running my play toy this summer... I will
probably use $2600.00 worth of fuel in three months... On second thought,
I don't want to be that depressed!

    :)

Plain and simple, the oil barons have us bent over the oil barrel, they know it

    The prices are rising again..

In the summer when I take the 24ft motor home with a ford 460 BB, pulling the 19 ft speedboat with a 455 BB olds in it....for the weekend, mind you...

I will pay an average of 200-300 hard earned dollars in just fuel...

Fuel on the water is 3.50 to 4.50 a gal in the summer time, and you are not allowed to refuel over the water with gas cans...either ya pull the boat out and fuel , or go to the fueling docks and get bent over..!

Oh and that`s not counting the kids following me in my truck, or the "other" vehicles that may be in the caravan..dirt bikes, jet ski`s, etc.

just be glad it`s just a truck you have to feed..!!

There is a reason I drive a Ford Focus. I put 20,000 + miles a year on a car. At an average of $2.25 a gallon, I save about $1,400 after tax dollars per year over driving my Mustang full time. I'm putting gas in 4 cars right now at the tune of $500 ± per month. Our stable of daily cars consists of a Ford Focus, Ford ZX2, VW New Beetle and Honda Element. The Element is the big gas user at 20-22 mpg. If we were driving big SUVs, trucks and so forth...my monthly gas tab would easily be over $1,000.

I bought a truck for a reason, and I expected the gas bill (and it to be higher actually)...

Ive drove it 3 times, and 2 of those three times Ive hauled something a car couldnt. Sheet of MDF, 10 foot fence poles and chain link fence...

I didnt buy it to look "cool" - I actually plan to use it... ;)

same here, but there are a lot of people out there that would never understand that. When I was in high school I had more than a couple people tell me i didnt need a 3/4 ton truck when I would have to haul around trailers a lot. Now that I dont have to do that, I still have a truck, but its only the wimpy 4.8L. Still need a bed though. Besides, theres something women like about a pick up truck:D
