You are really pushing it Noel. Wait until tomorrow you'll have a PM and then you'll have to print a retraction....it ain't pretty :p:D

Anyways the album really wasn't that good. Wasn't there a movie too....wait, that Carnal Knowledge.

OK, the drums are recorded pretty well and it's not really as bad as I remember. Not up there with the best Roth period stuff, but I've been groovin' to it before I go out tonight.

Just can't stand Sammy Hagar. Who the hell is he to relegate Eddie to the keyboards, huh?

Yes, I know all about the classical pianists in both of the Van Halen Bros, but this is rock and roll and Sammy, in no way whatsover, should be playing lead over Eddie Van Halen, PERIOD!!!!

no Sammy should not be playing lead over Eddie. I agree there but personally, I would take Sammy over David Lee any day of the week! Sammy has more of a Rock and Roll voice where David's seems more pop rock to me. Just me though.

DLR stomps the Red Rocker completely.

Don't forget, Eddie effed up his hand and turned to the keyboard for writing while it healed, that;s where all the keyboard injectiond came from, not a bow to Sammy.

Sammy sucks completely, forget the voice, who you want watching your back in a fight, David or Sammy?

I got turned on to VH at church camp of all places back in the very early 80's.
There was a time I knew almost every word of every song on all pre Sammy recordings.
No doubt VH had a hand in shaping my attitude and outlook on life back then.
Too bad they've lost the ability or will to put out something that truly kicks ****.

I think I'd skip them both and take what's behind door #3 Monty.

I like Hagar with VH ok. "Best of Both Worlds" from "5150" is a good rocker. I think DLR needed Van Halen more than they needed him. How did DLR do Solo? He fell on his face after one "titillating" hit (cover of California Girls). Was Van Halen better with Roth? Probably...but they still sold a boatload of albums after he left...which is more that you can say for him.

    Trans-Am (Live) Sammy Hagar

    Let's welcome Sammy Hagar...
Gonna tell you bout my car,
    1, 2,1234 Trans-Am!
    She’s American made;
Do you know what I mean.
    Red on black -
    She’s a street machine.
Sits ten inches off the ground with a custom plate...
    Says “I-E-A-T-Z-2-8”!
    Trans Am!
    Trans Am!
    Trans Am!
    Highway wonderland.
    ‘79,
We‘ll be at the end of the road,
    If you want horsepower
    Overload,
    And if you like kicks,
    Take her to the floor
    Red lined, shiftin’ gears,
    Hear the engine roar
    Of my Trans Am
    Catch me if you can
    In my Trans Am!
    Highway wonderland!
    Trans Am!
    Trans Am!
    Trans Am!
    She shines on the street,
And she shines at the heat,
And she shines in my Baby’s eyes,
    And she shines on
    Every other guy’s, Trans Am!
    Trans Am!
    Trans Am!
    Highway wonderland!

    T...R...A...N...S...A...M... Trans Am!

    Daytona Beach,
    We'll ride down to Riverside:
    Well If there’s a race,
    She’s qualified!
    My 6.6,
    Just a little too heavy
    For a big miles Ford,
    Or any **** Chevy.
    Trans-Am!
    Catch me if you can
    Me and my Trans Am!
    Highway wonderland! Trans Am!
    Trans Am!
Yeah Me and my Trans Am!
    Catch me if you can
    In my Trans Am!
    Highway wonderland!

    High...way...won...der...land!

Wow, the lyrics are so mindboggling deep

I wonder if his T/A was the 185hp or the 200 hp version??? The Olds or Pontiac 6.6???

The two good things about those "Smokey" T/As were their suspensions and brakes, which were FAR more advanced than it's competition at the time. The rest of the car was typical GM of the time and foreseeable future, junk!!! No offense, and I'm sure their are/were some fine examples, but for the most part......

the 6.6 was the olds 403 with 180 hp and a decent for the time 325 lb/ft tourque. the pontiac was the 400 and said so on the hood scoop. which didn't scoop. it did have 200 ponies, though. you're right about the handling of these cars though
