Not at all familiar with MIT stuff. Seems to be a combination shielded powercord and filter. Try to demo one on a pre-amp or an AV reciever.
Gear: Rotel RC 1082, Rotel RSP 1068 pre/pro, Rotel RMB1077 amp, Cayin CDT 15a CD player, S301 bluray.

Speakers: Tannoy DC sensys speakers, Paradigm Servo15 Sub, Velo Spl-1500r

    Conditioner: Isotek :D

for "starter" powercords I've heard good things about Blue Circles BC61 & 62, I use their music bar and it really cleared up haze. For more all out assault cables that seem to be more like component upgrades, I'd suggest Purist, Electraglide (heard the owner is a goof though) David Elrod, DCCA. I have no idea what the MIT Z's cost but I've never heard anything good about them.

MIT is well known and respected for their interconnects and speaker cables, but not so for their power cords. The AVT series is entry level, bump up to the Shotgun series for some really nice results.
