I thought MPEG 4 was just more compression to allow more content on a given bandwidth.....but apparently it is a lot more than that..

DirecTV is supposed to be rolling out new boxes with this standard this summer, and including more of the Local Affiliate digital channels, looking forward to it.. -
I am getting one Fri. Dish will also be replacing my dish 500 for the new DiSH 1000 with 3 sat feeds. The new stuff should give me a total of 23 HD channels plus the locals are coming this year. I already have a rooftop for those but if you get your locals via sat. this will be great. Word is that 10 or more new HD channels are on tap for this year.MPEG 4 is the new standard not really sure how it all works. But with 2 HD TVs the more Channels I get the better.

I'm dreading the loss of my 921, but then again time marches on. The 622 will have two out puts, 1 HD and 1 SD. My 921 has dual HD outputs, although I'm only using one I really hate losing the flexability to run 2 HD sets. When the time comes to upgrade I'll ****, piss, and moan to E* inorder to get the best deal possible.
