I am a N00B when it comes to home-audio. My HT sounds good but music sound poor.

My system:

Denon 1905

Polk
CSi 5 - Center
RTi 10 - Fronts
FXi 5 - Rear

Two subs:
PSW 10 - for rear
Velodyne 10 - for front

Sigh, that wasn't what he asked.

    Hello Canedog, welcome.

Almost any system can benefit from separate amplification. You should buy as much power as you can afford, or save until you can buy as much a you want.

You will have greater clarity, greater bass. You will start hearing details off of your cd's that you never heard before, and your receiver will have less strain put on it.

Do a search on amplification here on the board & have fun reading. This question has come up a lot lately as recently as yesterday!
Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2
