well my budget is around a $100, don't really need sacd, or dvd-a(won't turn either down for $100), but it will be doubling as a cd player. The dac in my receiver is ok(fine for movies), But would like some thing better for audio than one in the receiver. So for those in the know , let hear the recomendations.
also would consider dvd,and seperate cd player costing around $150 for the pair. I know it's not much to work with, but it's what I got for flexible cash right now(htrookies getting $300 from me for an adcom gfa 555, can't wait.) Refurbs are welcome.

Thanks

oh yeah, not worried about component video out, or hd upconversion. Still watching sdtv, hd will be in a couple years, with a hd dvd player, or what ever they decide on for an hd format.

Mmmm..maybe a Pioneer DV 588A-S around 120 in USA (Here, in argentina...240 bucks) and you get SACD and DVD-A, with very very superior quality to normal CD's.

Other option, some of models of Yamaha like SL80 or S-557 are great too.

Forget Philips, Samsung, LG, etc. ;) Bye

was thinking of a pioneer, but from what I am seeing, they don't like to play dvd+r/rw's, I've got home videos, self made dvd's with screensaver like effect mixed with audio songs that I made in 5.0(dolby digital, soon going to try and reconvert into dts) most of my "original" music is in .wav, .flac or .ogg formats. when composing I'll make 5 or 6 seperate tracks, one for each channel, then mix them together in ac3 format, the mix with video into dvd format. fun fun fun. anyways a little off topic but hey, that's why I would like dvd+r dvd+rw compatiblity

+1 on the Pioneer 588-A. Great player for the price. Plays SACDs and DVD-As. Nice remote. Best buy out there. I've seen new ones for $100 on ebay.

You might consider a refurb'd Denon 910. I've seen them for around $150 or a little lower.

like the denon and the pioneer, but on their web sites, they say the players will play dvd-r/w's and no mention of +r/w's oh well
    Thanks all

Yes..but before your final decision. Try a model of Yamaha, like S-657 with SACD and DVD-A. The picture quality is amazing (superior to pioneer) and sounds great with a good receiver with pre-outs.

I tried yesterday and it's more then i expected. Look that ;)

The oppo player would work if you have a DVI port in your TV.
    Its about $200 + Tax
    Harman Kardon AVR635
    RTi10's Up Front
    CSi5 Center
    RTi6's Rear Surround
    Furman RA-1210:rolleyes:
