What can I get for this amount of $$? I have been looking at the Axiom bookshelves (2-M22, 2-QS4 and the VP100), but I cannot listen to them. I want bookshelves and for right now I want just the center, 2 fronts and 2 rears. I will use my existing sub for the time being.

Need opinions on a comparable system from Polk.

Polk RTi8's Front
In-Walls for Rears
CSi5 Center

RTi4, CSi3, and RTi4 or FX surrounds will get you well within that budget.

depending on what prices you get, RTi6, CSi5, RTi4 or fx surrounds could be doable too. might be a bit over, but worth it.

Rti line are great performers, especially for home theater

The combination of Rti6 (front), Rti4 (rear) and the CSi3 is what I started to get. Then was concerned that the fronts was not big enough. The speakers that have 2 woofers is that mainly for if you do not have a sub? Have tried several places to listen to them with no luck.

wouldnt worry to much about the 2 woofer thing, thats why god invented the sub in the first place. a second woofer in a bookshelf wont take away the need for a sub. I would imagine this is the reasin you dont see as many bookshelves with 2 6 1/2" or bigger drivers anymore.

Which speakers would be the best for the rears in a 5.1 system. The Rti4's or the Fxi3's?

I prefer the FXi for HT, but if you are into that whole multichanel music thing, the RTi would be better for surrounds.

Being the FXi3 is more than the RTi6 how would it work if I had a 4 speakers the RTi6's?
