FS: Polk SDA 2B's (SF Bay Area)

Here's an immaculate set of 2B's. I plucked these from the living room of the original owner, a retired sound engineer, where they sat unmolested since he bought them 20+ years ago. The 2000 tweeters were upgraded by him to 2500 series.

The only damage I can see is one small ding on the top rear corner of one speaker. There is no evidence of past tobacco use around these speakers. The four cloth side pieces came off over the years, but they are in good shape and are, of course, included in the sale. I opted to use these speakers 'pedestal style' without the sides; you can make your own choice and affix as you see fit.

The color is natural oak. The blade/blade cross cable is included, as are the original boxes, styrofoam packing, and even the original plastic bags! I also have a copy of the owner's manual. You don't find SDA's in this condition very often, particularly in the Bay Area.

This set plays excellently. I'm selling because the SDA effect is simply too effective in my very large (and echoey) listening room. I've A/B'd these against another set of speakers I own and the SDA effect is obviously working as advertised. I paid $325 for these a couple of months ago, Club Polk price: $299. Local pick up only! The original boxes are not up to the rigors of UPS or any other shipping company, and I don't want to risk shipping in any event.

    Are the tweeters really 2500? It so, they are wrong tweeters. Maybe the new silk-dome replacement is what the previous owner meant???

    Those are really clean looking. Seems a fair price, for the condition,to me.

    I don't know if they are 2500's or not.. I just assumed that's what they were since they were black, not silver. They sound just fine.
