Just this night I have found 5-10 examples on different forums of people asking for help on what to choose, then say they got a "great deal" at best buy on an "amazing system". I just honestly dont get why they feel the need to waste everyones time? Of couse reading this was probable a bit of a time waster but I just had to say it. :o

this hobby's a learning process. they'll figure it out down the road.

if not, they'll be happy with what they got, and just not be into the hobby like we are. they might miss out on the enjoyment, but they'll have more pocket cash :)

Better than the times when you hear nothing back at all...

One thing to bear in mind on forums is that there are advertisers out there that work to create product buzz across a myriad of products. Some most certainly are audio. Some most certainly are sold at BB, CC and other low-fi B&M's...

I think a lot of people are looking for that opinion from the "experts." When in doubt, ask an authority on the subject. It gives people a sense of security.

Yea, you do gotta start somewhere. my first system was a 100$ durabrand from walmart, which i sadly still own in my bedroom. But the main point was people who buy something like that after asking what to get and then a week later asks why is sounds like crap.

Sometimes people dont think something more $$$ actually sounds that much more better and is worth it...

And sometimes they talk theirself into believeing it isnt in the end. Sometimes they learn, sometimes they dont.

For me, if I could tell myself how to do it again in the end - I would of told myself to go all out, I wasted ALOT of money just settling for "good enough"
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Agreed very much, its a learning process, how quickly you get up to speed on the learning curve is an individual thing. If your lucky enough to hook up early with a guru AND listen to what they say its a bit easier.

When starting out many seek there system validation from others, thats pretty normal. So when they buy their first system it really does sound good to their ear compared to whatever they had or did not have and they are likely pretty excited about it. Beyond that are all the budget concerns, which is a very individual thing.

Not everyone thinks like me or you or Dick, Tom, Harry etc., nor should they.
