Inwall speaker question

Is an inwall speaker basically an Infinite baffle speaker using the wall as its 'infinite baffle'? I ask this because i have some old two way polk car speakers, (please dont hurt me) and i wanted to mount them inwall in my workshop/basement. From what I understand the speakers are meant to be ib, so they would most likely work inwall, right? I would use a piece of wood, 16'' wide to hit the studs, to mount the speakers on, then cut a hole for the magnet in the wall, then mount the wood and speaker to the wall... Im not too worried about looks, but i have no place for bookshelf speakers that they wont get destroyed, unless i mount them on the wall... lol.

Not sure how good they would sound
But @ the same time older trailers did just that. They used 5.25" speakers & poped them in.
It would be better to just pickup a pair of inwall speakers. They aint too much.
I got a set from a company that I worked for. (price was right)
They didnt sound that good in the walls so I put them in my woodshop. But in the shop they are in a 24 on sq. rafter sealed so they sound somewhat ok.
