I picked up this CD tonight.. it's quite good. Some of the songs i've never heard before.. like Paul McCartney's - Fine Line and Mariah Careys - It's Like That. (Mariah sounds just like Janet Jackson on this song).

My favorite song is by someone i've never heard of.. but me like alot already. John Legend. the song he does is called Ordinary People it's just him and a piano. It's raw, and real. Wow, that one caught me by surprise. I also like Seal's version of Walk On By. The old Dionne Warwick standard. (Burt Bacharach and Hal David, composition)

I'm sure the CD has a few good songs on it, but by and large the Grammy's are a JOKE. A popularity contest at BEST. If that godawful song "Hollaback Girl" can win a musical award, I will never trust that award.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

When I saw the list of Grammy nominees I immediately thought...."another year of **** music getting awards - nothing new here".

here's to another Jethro Tull coup in the Best Metal Album category :D
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

last night i bought the John Legend CD and DVD combo pack Get Lifted. while i like his music.. the quality on the CD is terrible. the treble is pretty much non existant. it is a bad recording or the way it was mastered or something. I'm not happy about it. isn't there some kind of sound quality standard for Redbook CD's ?
