Kimber Kable Hero VS Cobalt Cable Interconnects

I got my Kimber Kable Heros yesterday and I am breaking them in. I know they need about 100 hours break in time before critical listening but so far compared to the Cobalt Cable interconnects I notice that they are slightly less bright in my system. The bass is a little tighter also but just barely. Has anyone else compared the two after break in? I will post again after a few weeks and see if there is a difference.

i haven't compared the two.. but what's the price breakdown on the Kimber vs the Cobalt? Kimber two or three times the price i'm assuming. not sure though.

I really like the build quality of the Cobalt Ultimate cables, and soundwise too.. and it also depends on where in your system you use them.. between my amp and pre amp the cobalts so far in my little two channel system have been every other cable. i'd be interested in trying the Kimbers.. if only i could afford some. ha ha ha.

I dont intend to change the subject of this thread to "Cable break in: myth or fact" But I am of the ilk that cable break in is a myth. So I say just go with whatever sounds better to you now, forget the break in...

If you are convinced of cablre break in time run it for a week then compare...

Ahem...well I kinda believe in the ole' break in time thing actually as I have imagined er I mean ...observed improvement over time in speaker cables that sounded a little flat in the beginning opening up to sound really nice ater a couple of weeks. My Cinenova ( The remaining 4 channels :( ) Sounds warmer and smoother now than it did when I first got it...so maybe there is something to it?

Snake oil...voodoo...psudo-self-actualization... I've heard all the claims from the naysayers explaining cables, break-in, etc. The only one that holds water for me is...ALIENS! I am convinced that aliens are making us hear differences so that we will use up our valuable resources to develop and buy cables rather than developing defense systems against THEM. I now know this for a fact since I put aluminum foil over my entire head and in my shoes to ward off the signals. I don't hear the differences any more. Check the flea market soon as I will have several cables for sale (or trade for aluminum foil).

I guess I'm not a whole lot of help here since I've never compared the heros to the colbat's but I also noticed a little more detail with a slightly colder and less foward sound in comparison to run of the mill rat shack's finest.

Where did you put them into your system? Mine are between my cdp and pre.

For those looking to try these look for used ones. I would have never been able to afford these (or get the guts to spend the cash) unless I had found a sweet deal on a used half meter pair.

Oh and what about coat hangers on the celing? They'll work nicely with the tinfoil to ward the conspiracies of the aliens and the spies of the MLB.

I put them between the pre and the amp. After a while, if I like them, I might get more for the DVD to the pre but they are kinda pricey..
