A Great Day with Dave

Our very own Dave (DAGLJAM6) made the drive down from S.C. to Brunswick Ga. today to pick up the Denon 2900. It was a hard to see it go, gave me many hours of enjoyment, but the time had come for her to move on.

Anyway, we had a great day. He got in about 10:00 this morning and we headed straight away to the Woodshed, pretty much spent the next 7 hours doing tunes, both digital and vinyl. Only stops were a couple of drain breaks and a couple govt authorized smoke breaks for Dave. He did enjoy a bowl of Ms. Darlene's world famous potato salad.

We really had a time with both the Rega P-25 and the MF Tri-Vista the Amazings and the Carver 9t power blocks. I expect he will report back to BDT that his/my Amazings have been well cared for from these sources. The MF was all he thought it might be and the Rega showed what well cared for vinyl is capable of.

Damm, Troy cleaned all my records I had left in SC my last trip and sent them back clean as whistle!! Thanks man, but wait not only did he clean my stack, he and Dave added a another stack from their collection as a little gift!!! Someone to clean my vinyl, someone to give me more nice vinyl, dang, all I need is someone to clip my toe nails. Anyway, thanks for the great stuff guys, it will give me many hours of enjoyment. Man what a Club!!!

Here is a couple shots of Dave getting his Rega groove on. Like I said it was a great way to spend the day in the Woodshed, groovin to tunes.

A fine gentleman welcome back to Ga anytime. I am sure he will enjoy the Denon as it rocks!! Looking forward to his report.

Cool, especially the shot of Dave bending over.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Oh yea, Big Poppa has been spending his audio coin. I might be broke but happy!!

We kept the candle going for errr.......well you know. ;)

One thing, it was more humid today in Ga than for quite a while, had a little heart spasm when the high end on the Amazings suddenly went bust, sounded like a broke snare drum pounded by a two year old. Nothing obvious wrong. Fired up the de-humidifier and everything was back in order within 10 minutes.

Coulda been a Blue Jeans model 'cept for the no assatall i've got.

Had an excellent time at Ted's. The Trivista would be great even if it only lit up and the tray came out but it sounds great too. What a fine example of machining if i must say.
The Rega plays vinyl on a level that i've not heard before.(Russ, I hope you locked in on WW's TT also Mrs. RT1's 'tater salad may have to make it to the next Pfest)

A couple of class acts sharing the day and grooving with some classy gear. Is this a great forum or what!?!

I look forward to seeing you both again this fall.

I am BUMMED I couldn't make it to GA with Dave. I feel jilted.

Seriously, sounds like a GREAT time. I'm glad that the CA's are still in the family. I'm still looking for an oak pair, but, you know, the AR9's and the 2.3tl's fill in admirably.

Can't wait to get an ear on that rig.....good stuff all the way around.

Anytime Brohams, I expect to make another nice little bump with the Acoustech Phono-Pre. The Parasound actually sounds pretty good but the new one is just in a different league.

Next PF is going to be awesome.

    Yeah, Ted it will be.

Honestly, with THAT rig. You've GOT to get an LP cleaner.

    Seniors,

As i lurk about the forum... spending hours upon hours determined to ascertain what language you all converse in... i come across this thread, i can't resist.

my bro's woodshed rig not only sounds good, it does wonders for the beginning guitar player... simply put in the guitar playing 101 cd... and strum/pick your d,d,d,a,a,a,g,g,g,d,d,d,... can u hear it? Now then.. Once more with FEELING...!

    sc

    p.s.

please sell ted more 'stuff'... it greatly reduces the expense of my upgrades!
