ND13's sweets thread got me thinking. Food is as big a part of Sunday as football is, so whats on the menu for the big game? Kickin' it up a notch? Pizza and wings? Get your gourmet on?

I've got the bourbon, got the beer, got the peanuts - I'm thinking the standard fare (watching alone probably).

Stuffed Jalapenos, Onion Strings, and maybe grill up a couple Pork Chops and fix a wedge salad.
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

It's like an eggroll only smaller, uses a thinner wrapper. Wendi knows a Fillipino lady that makes them for us.

****, I thought in the Abernathy domicile they just ate whatever it is Russ hit with his truck on the way home.

I'm sure we are having other stuff but that's subject to whatever people bring. I'm responsible for the oysters and beer.

Pulled pork barbecue - stuck a 5lb loin in the crockpot last night with some
homemade sauce. Pork is cooling right now, sauce in the fridge to let the fat
solidify. Then scum off the fat and reduce slightly on the stove, shred the
loin and add. Carmelize some onions & roast some peppers and serve on
sesame hoagie buns. Asked the wife what kind of potatoes -
still undecided. Maybe some potato pancakes or hell some oven fries shake & bake style.
Wash it all down with a Goose Island variety pack!

Hmm, doing the BBQ Meatball thing in the crockpot.

Also we prepared some enchiladas which are also cooking in the other crockpot.

    1 Pound of Ground Beef
2 Cups of Taco/Enchilada Sauce (Choose your spiciness!)
1 Cup of your favorite Salsa
    1 Large Yellow Onion
    1 Red Pepper
    1 Green Pepper
1 Pound of your favorite Cheese
3 Cloves of Garlic -- Minced (Or pre-minced)
    8 Pack of Tortilla Shells

Brown your beef in a frying pan. Add in your chopped onion, red pepper, green pepper, and garlic. Saute until the onions are translucent. Remove from heat and add 1 cup of your salsa and taco sauces to the beef & veggie mixture.

Spoon the mixture into the middle of a tortilla, throw in a healthy dose of cheese, roll up and seal with a toothpick. Do that until you're out of shells. At the bottom of the crock pot throw in a splash of Olive Oil and another cup of sauce (prevents sticking).

Keep stacking them up and then pour the remaining sauce over the top layer and coat with cheese. Let that cook on LOW for 3-4 hours.

    Really makes it extra flavorful.
    Place the enchillada

    Tour2Ma,

I second the Shiner Bock, will you send me a case! I had never had this before, but I heard about it all the time while listening to KHYI from Plano TX on internet radio. I saw some in a store and tried it, loved the stuff. The problem is that it is very hard to find around here.

I'm headin' your way in may/ June time frame. A case does not take up much room.

Just picked up another 12-pack of long-necks as pre-game "activity" was a bit more than anticipated with the bro-in-law in attendance. But he's added pork ribs to the menu, so all is A-OK...
