F150 Help

Hello, I am new to this site and have many questions..
I have a Ford f150 extended cab 2004 with factory sound.
I would like to upgrade starting with speakers, any suggestions..

    I'm fairly new to the whole car audio thing myself, but you need to be a bit more specific.

    Anyone here could suggest stuff, but that could be from a Wal-Mart system, to one that could be a custom install costing tens of thousands.

    Start with a budget, and what you're specifically wanting (CD only? DVD? Adding speakers? Stock quantity?, Sub? etc).

    I am looking to upgrade speakers first.Front door,then rear door,amp,then sub. I am trying to use existing speaker locations with minimal cutting.On a budget for now.Under $700.00 for speakers..

    you could fit mm6500s in the front doors with an adapter plate, i believe you have 6.5s in the rear which you could replace with momo coaxials...do you want to add a sub?

    Shoot, man...with $700 you can just about get a rockin' system.

    Get the MMC6500 for up front, MMC650 for the rear, a PolkMOMO MM2104 10" sub for the low notes, and an Eclipse CD2000 HU for control. There you have speakers, sub, and an awesome HU, not just speakers, for not much over your $700 figure ($790). You add an amp to that, and you have a wicked system for about $1000.

    If I were to build a system today, I would use the MMC6500 up front, an Eclipse for the HU (maybe even that one), and a MM2104 for the sub.

    I would personally not even use rear channels, because they mess with the imaging and soundstage and are only really useful if you carry passengers around. Instead, I would put that money toward an amp. That way, it'd be cheaper to amp everything (fewer speakers), and you'd have more money for the amp(s).

    If youve got 5x7's in the front doors I would go with the MMC5250's for there. But if youre just wanting a plug and play system and dont want to have to cut holes for mounting the tweeters then get the coaxial MMC525.

    Since he gave us a budget of $700...just for speakers...I'm assuming he wants something fairly nice. Which would necessitate components.

    Yes but not everybody that wants nice speakers want to cut holes in their sail panels for component tweeters.

    The front doors on my f150 do have holes already cut for the tweeters.
    What about the sub? Will it fit under the seat?
    Has anyone listened to the mmc570 speakers?

    I just purchased Polk mmc5250 speakers for the front doors,( should have went with the mmc 6.5s). Do I need a amp to power the speakers? Am using factory head unit.
    If so, how much power do I need??
    I will buy a seperate amp for the sub,at a later time.

    Yeah, for components you should buy an amp. If no one has given you some recommendations whenever I check in again tomorrow, I'll surf the 'net some for ya and pick out a few. (It's late over here...)

    700 for speakers man your really going all out im just spending 300 on speakers and im buying polk db 570's for the front and db690 for the rear im getting rear speakers because i carry passengers alot. im alos getting a polk db212-2 for my sub, and a mtx audio thunder high performance ta5601 amp.
