Dared Pre guts

Since I've been playing around with crossovers and changing binding posts, and my Dared is resting for a few days, I opened to take a look; thought that maybe there would be some components that could be upgraded (as if I would be able to identify anything  ).
Anyway, first thing is that it is way too crowded for me to even think on taking it apart, at least for now. The other thing is that I saw brands that are inside Jolida, so they could not be that bad.. such ad the Rubycon (?)...errr...capacitors??
Enjoy.

Thank God for different opinions. Imagine the world if we all wanted the same woman

The first and last picture, the 2 yellow caps, that's really all that needs to be (or could be) replaced. They should be directly coupled to the line drive ouput stage.
Also, doesn't the Dared use 12AT7's? Just noticed the printed board has AX on it.
Cheers,

You are right Russ; it uses 12AT7's; I also noticed that printing. weird.
Edit.On the yellow caps...I have no idea what you're talking about...line drive output stage? So they are in the wrong place?...maybe some day I'll ask you to explain me what could be done_________________________________________________

They are in the right place (duh ). They could just be upgraded, Sonicaps for instance. The 22mf caps, easy swap.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Got it; will do that after I finish the crossovers; since it's only two of them it will be well worth it to get the best ones..

That is rather crowded. Perhaps when you mod it, you could build a larger box for it so things aren't so close together (and thus there would be less 'noise' or interference). Probably not worth it, though.
Thanks for the gut pics! I'll have to save 'em and maybe take apart some of my gear one day. Would be a fun project.George Grand wrote: »
