Lsi9 with NAD T752 Reciever

This is my first post but have been a lurker for a while.

I just hooked up the lsi9's to my NAD reciever and it sounds good. However, everyone who said you need more power is right!! The amp is rated at 90w in 2 channel mode and the speakers just start to perform near full power. I like my music loud so that may have something to do with it. I know the amp is putting out a lot of power because the lights in my room dim with every bass note. So if anyone has a good deal on a 2 channel amp let me know($300-500). I still plan on using the reciever for HT, but like music louder.

Question. Does bi-amping the speakers make a large difference?

    It should not be to difficult to find an amp in your price range that will do a better job driving those Lsi's, assuming you don't mind buying used.

    Search Audiogon.com for brands like Adcom, B&K, Parasound, Rotel and Outlaw.

    The benefits are bi-amping are debatable. I wouldn't worry about it right now.

    Hey Prozach7, welcome to the forum. That 2 X 90 watts is for 8 ohm speakers. Since your LSi are 4 ohm then you can almost double that power for that receiver. Remember you need to double the power in watts to get a 3 db output change and that receiver is probably putting out 150 watts into 4 ohms already. Do you know how loud you are listening in dbs?

    careful going loud with that reciever. clipping = blowing speakers, easier to do when a speaker is underpowerred than over powerred. keep the listening levels moderate until you step up the amplification.

    add the Carver 4.0, tfm42, or tfm45 (all the same amp) to your list of potentials. a little pricey used (400 ish) but it sounds downright magical with the LSi9's. thats what I have playing right now and the sound coming from these little bookshelfs has been very impressive. Everyone I let listen to it is friggin amazed.

    it goes loud and clean. 500 watts at 4 ohms is apparently a good thing for the LSi9's
