Auralex Gramma and Sub Performance

My latest obsession is in acoustic treatment for my room. My Pb12 Ultra/2 subwoofer is awesome and I also have a Velodyne SMS-1 for EQ but it can always get better, right? While researching acoustical articles on the web , I ran across this SUB TRAP .
Ok but I am not prepared to spend almost $500.00 on that just yet and besides that would put my beast of a sub ridiculously high. I can just hear the music from 2001 a Space Odyssey playing in the background even as I think about it. When I read the theory behind the Sub Trap though it made sense:
I already have the Ultra on two Auralex Gramma isolation platforms so I put another set on top of those for a grand total of four - effectively raising the Ultra by about another 2.75 inches. Then I chose Flight of the Phoenix from the DVR in HD for THE test.
The results? Higher is better. At least in my room. The bass had noticeably more impact and seemed to work with less effort as it also hit lower! (My only gripe with the SMS is that it seemed to take a bit off of the low end of the sub or so I thought. Now it seems that raising the sub on the extra Grammas have given me another successful tweak for a very reasonable price.

This repositions the subwoofer up and away from the lower pressure zone of the vertical
mode, which decouples it from the mode. In addition, a bass trap has been relocated in the pressure zone,
working to damp out any residual mode buildup. Finally, the SubTrap is also an iso-deck, a floating
platform to mechanically decouple the subwoofer vibration from getting into the floor, electronic and
video equipment, and the rest of the house.
When mode buildup is eliminated, the subwoofer volume can be turned back up to match the main
listening level. The subwoofer now can do its job, which is to complete the full bandwidth presentation
of dialog, musical detail and explosive program material.

I guess no one was really interested in this but I would like to add that after a few days that I also have noticed that this tweak has widened my EQ 'sweet spot'. Now when I get up and walk around the room I am not getting the same pockets of Boom Boom that I was in places or in the rest of the house. It's worth a shotSharp Elite 70
