I got a used JD-100 and just hooked it up.

The unit plays and all commands seem to work ok (REM,RAN,REP,INTRO..etc), but there's always this "over" red sign in the display that bothers me because I don't know what it means and it is not in the manual.

Do you know what this is?

Thanks!!

Oh I'm so glad I'm not the only one who didn't know what this meant!

It means that your front panel can only display up to song #16 of your cd. If you have more than that the little red OVER sign means you have more than 16 songs on your disc.

Good one, Cathy! I would have guessed (incorrectly) "over" sampling.

No....it means it's time to flip the cd over and play the other side, you know side B :D:p . Cathy was right, simply means more songs on the cd than the display can show.

You might laugh...but when I inserted the first CD and saw that, I opened the tray to see if I had placed the CD up side down :D

    Ricardo,
You better not tell your wife where I live. She might want to blame me for you going bonkers over the last couple of months since visiting my house. ;):D

You are well on your way to Audio Nirvana. That Jolida, along with the 6-packs and the MLP will be a rig to be extremely proud of and for others to envy.

I need to make a trip over to see you soon.

    ..... :D:D:D:p:p:p .

Ok, most of us here are guys with a few exceptions and this is in no way a jab at HTRookie. But, how many here actually read the instruction manual? For me it's usually the first thing I do. I must say, especially when it comes to new cell phones, they are cryptic at best sometimes. Sometimes I get a good chuckle out of the wording, especially when said manual has been translated to English from another language.

For me, reading the manual of EVERYTHING before it is turned on is a religious thing.... In this case, the manual is very poor in terms of display contents.

    Noel,

I'd be happy to host a "demo". I am at the point that I NEED other experienced ears to listen to what I've got. I love how things are improving but I am sure there are more opportunities in placement and the such.
If you cannot make it soon, you should not miss the June 10/11 gathering....

I'm a speed reader :D . It's usually hooked-up and playing. But for the finer points I usually read the manual right away. More than a few times it's helped, but mostly it's the same old stuff. I do this with almost everything I buy not just the audio stuff. I guess it's just a habit.

Manuals are for those lessor individuals that actually need them ;)

Are there actual instruction sets that are in English and not those annoying Picto-grams .?
