The worst is when you check the tracking and it says "Delivery Failure" or something. D'OH!
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

FedEx is usually early in the day for me. Damn UPS is always after 5pm though. Last night, they didn't come until 7:05! I was pacing.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

You and me both man. I keep updating/refreshing my package tracker. I know its pointless, but what else am I going to do? I had my package deliverd to work since they get the early business deliver as opposed to my house.

Happened to me yesterday. I ordered my Dell Axim on Monday, on the truck for delivery on Wed, but nobody was home to accept it. Hoping for today.

    FedEx made it!

I took one out of the box to look at it (M200), and I like what I see so far. Nice simple clean look to them, no nonsense. The first thing that struck me was how heavy the are. While I knew what the weight of these amps was, what throws you off is how thin they are in relation to their weight, kind of like picking up a piece of plate steel. The build quality looks to be very nice, but the proof of the pudding will be when I get them home tonight.

BTW Some of these amps will be offered in the flea market here within a week. The reason is I got a real good deal on seven of these babies, and I am only going to keep between 3 and 5 of them, the rest will be offered to you guys for what I have in them.
I may also have a Adcom GFA-555 amp for sale as well. The Outlaws are brand new, still sealed in factory boxes (double), the Adcom is used.

Will let you know what I think about these once I get to try them out.

My Krell went out on Monday, and just cleared custom's today...I'll be lucky to get it tommorow...and I had all Friday evening planned with drinking and listening to music. I doubt that will happen now =(

Nobody was home to receive my STF-2 today. Dreaded 'delivery failure' on the package tracking.

    I will be home tomorrow!

I took three of the Outlaws home tonight to hook them up, and left the other four at my office. I hooked the M200s up to my LF, RF anc C channels, and let the Denon AVR-3806 continue to handle the SR and SRB channels. I then picked out both some music and video to audition them with. I wanted some selections that I had listened to recently so I could make a good comparison to the old set up.

For music a little Steely Dan, Pretzel Logic...Stevie Wonder, Superstitious...and for the hard stuff some Rush, Limelight. For the HT portion of the audition I watched parts of Lord of the Rings Return of the King, Kill Bill Volume 1, and all of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith.

I will not try and use adjectives to descibe the audition like a wine connoisseur on a trip through Nappa Valley, but just my general impressions.

First off, they did not dramatically increase the volume at which my HT would play, this was expected, but it did seem to allow it to play at higher volumes much more effortlessly, kind of like adding a lot of horsepower to your vehicle, and giving it two more gears! It seemed to have a lot more headroom at reference levels, and could easily play higher than that.

The next thing that jumped out at me was what seemed to be a LOT more bass, it was if I had upgraded to a much better sub than the one I now have. You did not just hear the music or movie, you felt it! Sure before there were things in a movie that did this in certain places, but now it just seemed to be on a much larger scale. The famous 'bright' tweeters of my RTis also sounded much smoother, and not as bright as before, as if they were not trying so hard.

I also noticed that the imaging of the soundstage was far more localized and distinctive than before. I heard parts of the movies that had never stood out previously, it was as if you were hearing a whole new sound mix to Star Wars. Some of this was dramatic, other more subtle, but you could not help to notice it. I tried the music I listened to in both pure direct two channel, as well as the Dolby Digital Music mode, in the 7.1 it was if you were seated in the middle of the band.

The last thing I was very impressed with was almost total lack of heat that these amps produced, even after pushing them hard. This had been on of my early concerns when thinking about going with the Outlaws. Small (thin) and with a lack of cooling fins seemed to dictate that they would run hot, especially when they would be stacked. I had three of these stacked on top of each other, and even after a good workout, they were cool to the touch. You would almost believe that they had not even been turned on, very nice. I set these up to turn on with source imput, like subs in stand-by, this is another feature that I like very much.

All in all, I am very pleased with these amps, and I am going to experiment with additional amplification for the SR channels as well, though I expect it will not be needed, or at least not worth the extra money to do this. This weekend, I am going to put the Outlaws up head to head with the Adcom GFA-555, and see which I like the best.

Nice review. They are great little amps but mine get pretty toasty with the LCI rear channels (4 ohm). Enjoy :D

Thanks wingnut4772, but I bet toasty is just the small price you pay for 4ohm! But I be they sound sweet.

Post Script: I just checked out the pics of your HT setup, very nice. I do have a question for you though. I noticed pics with two different SVS subs, I sure hope one is a replacement upgrade, otherwise...you are insane! :p:D

I am insane but you are correct that the PB12 Ultra/2 is a replacement. I have to totally retake all my pics as a lot has changed.

The basement drywall is up and being sanded (new pics this weekend). I am ready to purchase the the new speakers (finally) and amp. My front L/R/C speakers will be the LC265i I was planning on powering the L/R with a new Niles SI-2125. Should I consider individual Outlaws instead for each?

The rears are going to be the LC80i and powered by an existing Yamaha receiver.

Congrats Lima, welcome to the world of separate amplification! You will never go back!

You described perfectly the benefits of what happens when you add a separate amp/s into the mix.

    Isn't it great?
