LSi9 with Panasonic XR-55?

Has anyone paired the LSi9 with the Panasonic XR-55?

I listened to a pair of LSi9's at a local Tweeter recently and came away impressed. I am in the process of putting together an in-home audition of a number of speakers for my first HT.

I'd like to include the LSi9.

However, as you know it is rated 4 ohms. The XR-55 which I just received is rated for 6 and 8 ohm speakers, not 4.

Thus my question.

And what is the worst case here? Blown speakers?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Bob

Worse case could be a number of things. First and foremost would be underpowered speakers, Clipping the amp and damaging the speakers, and of course there's a good chance the amp will shut down due the demands placed on it. Lsi's are great speakers but they do need adequate amplifier power.

ditto here, if that receiever aint rated for 4 ohs, then dont use it.
there are 4 ohm rate speakers out there that this rule can be bypassed a little bit, but the LSi's are NOT one of em.
