Anyone Build a Guitar?

I noticed in the "anyone play guitar" thread a while back that someone made there own. Anyone else out there try that? Here's a picture of what I did a few years back (no strings on it at the moment, it mostly hangs on the wall with the rest of my stuff, so I don't want any neck warpage).
It's made of a couple of pieces of hard maple. I routed out the inside to give it more of the hollow body sound. It has active pickups (they are called "reflex", but I don't think they are made any more), but they sound really nice. I didn't make the neck, it's a Thomas Anderson. My next project will include a home made neck (but that's a challenge all in itself). The tuners are Pevey. The biggest challenge was getting the neck to sit at the proper angle to the body. (I just went did it for fun. Didn't do a ton of research on how to build something like this).
I'm planning another in the near future. I already have a basic shape from a piece of cherry I saved from the fire wood pile (it was a big cherry tree). This time i'm planning on trying a neck (from a piece of maple saved from another fire wood pile), though I will probably buy a fret board.
Let me know what you think, and what else is out there and what kind of things you may have run into.
