I'm cleaning up a few things and found my fist DVD player; It's a Sony DVPS560D with built in DD/DTS decoders (Digital and 5.1 output). Picture and sound are GREAT. The only caviat is that it started freezing and skipping with perfectly new DVD's. This is I found a common problem for these players. The problem is not constant; we could watch several movies with no problems. Not sure how the problem is now. Worst case, it's a decent CD player...

Up for grabs for any member. Finishes Sunday after the SuperBowl :)

I think I may have had that same player, it developed severe problems after 2 years. I put it out with the trash and the garbage man took it. I think I paid $300 for it new, if that's the same model. Lots of people had problems with them.

Are they fixable? Or are they just not meant to last past 2 years?

Probably fixable, but for sure not worth it. I hooked it up and it's playing Diana Krall live in Paris...so far no problem, but as mentioned, it will freeze and skip randomly...

Shipping out today...with no remote, no manual; I can email you a PDF manual.

When I used this player I controlled it with my receiver's remote....so the player's remote has been out of sight for a few years..if I ever find it I'll send it to ya.

Sweetness. You are the best! I have a 3805 Denon Remote that should be able to learn if you ever found the other one. Otherwise, I'll just get off my big fat butt and push the buttons myself! Ha

Very cool. If I owe ya anything, just holla.

That 3805 remote should be programmable for a Sony DVD..without having the Sony remote to "learn", right?
