Amps for 6 ohm speakers

Ok; so I got these speakers that are rated at 6 ohms; I did not even think about the convenience or not of that rating...until now.
Many amps have a switch or separate binding posts to select 4 or 8 ohm speakers; I've seen this more in tube amps.
So, what if the speakers are 6 ohms? What would the right setting be for the amp if it only has 4 and 8 as options? What are the risks of damaging either the speakers or the amps?
Would like to know what you experienced people think about this.
Thanks!!

Thank God for different opinions. Imagine the world if we all wanted the same woman

Honestly, most amps these days, apart from tube, don't have the 4/8 switch, and simply output the power required. I would think with 6 Ohm speakers that a non-switchable amp would be a better choice. However, if required, I would assume a 4 ohm selection to be better, since the speaker will regularly drop to 4 ohms, but not likely spike to 8 on a regular basis.Current System:
