Base on the number, it could be a midranged year 2000 model. I have an sr6300 I got in 2003.Gear: Rotel RC 1082, Rotel RSP 1068 pre/pro, Rotel RMB1077 amp, Cayin CDT 15a CD player, S301 bluray.
Speakers: Tannoy DC sensys speakers, Paradigm Servo15 Sub, Velo Spl-1500r

I am a bit of a fan of older Marantz recievers ....I have an SR870 AV receiver but have just purchased a Denon 2106 for it's price and Home theatre processing (which the SR870 was lacking).
