Hello,

I have a Yamaha RX-V650 with a RM6700 5.1 system (sub is a PSW303 connected via a sub cable).

Now I just bought a pair of RTi4 for music listening. I have plugged them into my speaker B inputs.

The problem is the setting for the speaker size on the receiver (small, large) is not independent for speaker A/B. So both my front RM6700 and my RTi4 must be set at the same size. (RTi4 should be set to large and RM6700 to small).

Should I remove the sub cable and wiring the sub with speaker cable? I would like to listen to my RTi4 with the sub.

the RTi4 is a better performer than the sattelite speaker from the rm6700. ditch the sattelite mains and just roll with the RTi4 only. try large and small, you might want to keep them on small, but cross them over lower than the sattelite was, like maybe 80 or 60 hz.

simply put the rti4 where the sattelite mains were and recalibrate accordingly, forget the a/b stuff. 2 different sounding mains = ungly sound. trust me on this :)

your next upgrade will be a timbre matched center to replace the small rm6700 center. trust me on that one too

All to small, unless you run without a sub, then set to large, but keep the volume down, since even the 4s are still too small to handle lots of bass.
