Is the T20e the same as the Monitor 30?

I just bought a pair of T20e speakers for a great price. I just want to make sure that they are the same as the Monitor 30s. All of the specs are the same and they look the same.

I know the txxe line is just the european version of the monitor line

i.e. the t90e is the same as the monitor 60. so if the specs and drivers match, they are most likely the same.

The only differences are cosmetic. The T20e has the tweeter on top instead of hte bottom, and it has a black face instead of sliver. Also, they have real wood veneer instead of vinyl.

I got a great deal! www.tweeter.com for $129 per pair. National chain, the stores are Tweeter up north and Sound Advice in the south. They also have the Monitor 60 for $175 each. I haven't found either on sale anywhere else. Also, www.outpost.com has the R15 on sale for $50 shipped every couple of months. And www.partsexpress.com has the 12" Dayton sub for $129, very highly recommended.

I've now got the Dayton, M30 and R15 setup. Just looking for an inexpensive center now.

Looking at both pictures, T20EB and the Monitor 30, it looks like the T20 is an upside down version of the Monitor 30; tweeter is on the top on the T20, but all the specs look the same, T20's are made in China. Maybe that accounts for the price spread. Wish some one would tear both apart and look at the guts just for fun. Ciao, Bill  :)

    T20's are made in China

Along with pretty much every other product in the Polk lineup. Went from the US, to Mexico, to China. The move to China is what actually caused the increase in price for the LSi's last year. I'm not knocking where they are made, just giving the info.

If you can let me know how these sound. Do you have anything to compare them to? You got me wanting these now but i want to make sure these are better than the m10's i got. They woofer and tweeter are better but want to make sure the sound is better. Thanks

Yes, they sound exactly the same as the Monitor 30s. So, if you want to know how the T20s sound, go to circuit city and listen to the Monitor 30s and they will be the same.

How do they compare to the RTi 4's. Is it worth the extra 100 bucks? Thanks

I'd say if you were going to pay $200 for the Monitor 30s, then get the RTi4s instead, but for $129 for the T20s + free shipping, I'd say they are the better deal.

I was originally going to buy M10s as my surround speakers, but i ended up getting the Monitor 30s to compliment my Monitor 70s and CS2, and it ended up being a decision I am VERY happy i made. I paid $200 for them and still think they were worth it :)

I just got into HT and have been in car audio for awhile and i love the polk series speakers. I bought my stuff at CC; so i was kinda limited. The m10's had originally fit my slim budget but dont put out too much at all. I hoping the m30's will do me fine. If you dont mind me asking what do you have all your speakers set on(+1, +2, ). Right now i have the CS1 with PSW10 and m20 floor speakers. I will be upgrading the sub and floors as soon as i can but i need some surround bad. Thanks again for your advice. it is much appreciated.

I'm not sure if this answers your question, but on my receiver, I have all speakers except subwoofer set to 0. I dont have an SPL meter and they all seem to be at about the same volume. Subwoofer is somewhere between 0 and -10db depending on the source.
