So I ordered myself a Dell Axim X51v. Went online last Friday to order one of the X51's($350 was my estimated budget) and the X51v was 35% at $324.
I added an aluminum hardcase and a year of accidental warranty coverage to make the total $365 with a $20 coupon they sent me.
Now I'll have to go back and re-read some of the PDA posts and look for some good advice on how to really benifit from this thing.
Been trying to keep up with sticky notes for too long. My wallet wasn't big enough for them all and I always seemed to lose the important ones.....like the website where I need to apply to become a Sony dealer
The phone/PDA thread I started last month really helped me make this decision. I've just been waiting to get enough $ in the bank to actually purchase it.

The full version of Microsoft Outlook on my home PC with over 400 contacts and serving 3 email accounts has kept me in touch for the last 3-4 years with my Ipaq. I can't get wireless out here in the boonies like you will be able to, so your functionality should be great. Using Outlook for all meetings, reminders, etc. is great once you've moved all the sticky notes into it. The nice thing about using Outlook is that you can work it on your home PC which is way more user friendly, then activesync it to your PDA. It also works the other way around when changes are made to your PDA, you sync them with your home PC so all is well.
I also like carrying a number of excel and word files with me that I need acces to frequently.
Just always throw it on the charger at night and get a cord for each auto, so that you aren't dead when most needed. Your world disappears, once the battery dies, even more than when a cell goes down, since you can always use someonelses phone, but none has access to your info, but you.
Enjoy it, my next one will be an Axim.......

I bought the same model (Axim X51) for my wife this Christmas, it's like a mini-pc. Much easier to use then her old Palm PDA for sure. She loves it.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

I could sum up my life in to two catagories...
Pre-PDA and Post-PDA.
I know that sounds lame but it makes everything so easy and organized -
I lost all the memory on my Axim X30 and have been living without it for the past few months. I am so damn disorganized.
So, I bought a used, but new to me X50v. Oh my gosh, I love the VGA. Its so nice. The updated OS is much, much better too.
The pre-PDA, post-PDA comment is pretty much the epitome of lame, but I also fully understand what you mean.
