My first post. Great forums!

This is my situation.....

Yamaha RX-V2500 (130w x 7) 7.1
75% movies
25% music
apartment w/neighbors above/below
living room 14'x12'

I don't know that about Polk Audio speakers except that I heard they're great.

This is stuff my dad gave to me because he doesn't use them any more. It's in mint condition. :)

RT1000p mains
CS245i center
RT25i main/surround?
f/x300i surround
PSW450 subwoofer
RM6600 satellite set

What kind of 7.1 system can I put together from this?

Do I need to upgrade any of it?

Sell it all and get a Surround Bar and add rears?

Thanks, Greg

    Welcome Greg,

If the 25s and 300s are pairs, you have a nice balance for a 7.1 setup. The 6600s can go into a bedroom rig if you like.

Keep it. Depending on your situation the only upgrade would be the sub but if you're in an apartment then it's ok too.

I hear the apartment thing, my heidour below and beside me have stereos that all I can hear from them is this sound that resembles bass(one note wonders). If I get sick of it(like when I'm trying to listen to music, or movie) I'll crank it up a little and usally after a couple of seconds they'll turn theirs down. I've only got a technics receiver dd, dts 100w x 5/ch right now can't wait to get my adcom gfa 555 325 watts a side sould let them now I'm not playing :)

I'm actually thinking of not using the PSW450 because:

    I live in an apartment
The bass fron the RT1000p should be enough
I'm not that much of a "big bass" person

Is the CS245i "enough" of a center for the RT1000p?

Is it matched to go with them?

    Thanks, Greg

Should be fine- I used that with my rt1000i's; you might want to bump up the volume on it a little in the receiver settings- or get an SPL meter and see what it says.

I agree that you probably don't want to mix the RM6600's with the rest. Otherwise, you're good.
