Just got Call of Cthulu from gamefly, and I have to recommend it to anyone who likes horror games and has some patience. It is first and foremost an adventure game, so don't expect constant action at all. It is a little mean in some spots though, as ususally it puts you in some terrifying position and makes you do a lot of fiddly gameplay mechancis very quickly under stress. You'll be platforming, bolting doors, etc. Still though, great story.
