Aren't these insane prices for Phase Tech floorstanding speakers?

Check it out!!

I've never listened to a Phase Tech speaker, but I've always read that they are very good. Good alternatives to the Fry's R30s?

No affiliation, just a "heads up".

NEver heard of em but you gotta wonder why so cheap? The R30 polks are a full 10 pounds heavier though so thats gotta tell you something about build quality.

I sold Phase Technology speakers in the mid 80's thru early 90's. It was our "Value" speaker compared to Polk, Mirage, KEF, ADS, M & K and a few other high line brands. They certainly aren't anything close to white van speakers, but they aren't anything special. Perhaps a good match for the Polk R line, but somehow I think the R line might sound a bit better, but they are pretty similiar. My bro still has a pair of Phase Tech's (towers) from his very first system which he uses in a workout room, they sound fine. I sold a lot of them back then, at 60% mark-up we either made a great commission or were able to discount heavily to make the customer happy. Whenever customers didn't want to pay Polk prices they would buy Phase Tech's, why I don't know. The Polks of that era (RTA, Monitors, SDA) were so much better.
