I was scratching my head and saying "WHY????" when I first heard about this.

http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/theomen/large_apple.html

I have to say, this trailer is seriously dammed creepy! I hope they nail it. The original is a tough cookie to stand up to. Wonder if it will be the trilogy all over? Interesting marketing ploy on this one too. Opens in theaters on 6/6/06.

As a side note, many years ago I read the book "Omen IV". The story followed right up after 3 when Damien was killed. In 3, he was stabbed with only one of the knives/daggers which extinguished his physical life, not his spirit. To truly kill him off for good, all of the knives/daggers had to be in him in the sign of the cross. Thats where 4 starts off.

The first one with Gregory Peck & Lee Remick was awesome.

I only vaguely remember the first one. Were the sequels any good? You probably don't have to answer that knowing horror sequels. I'm kind of wondering why it even needed a remake. The trailer was pretty creepy, though.

The first one was the best, the second was watchable (it's kind of cool, Damien finds out what he is and there's actually an internal struggle with it...), after that I didn't even bother.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

For me, it was downhill after the first one.

Cool teaser, but I can't help but think it's nothing more than a slap in the great Richard Donners face. Both for the Omen and Superman remakes.

It's amazing how the little things can give substance to something- such as blowing on the top of a bottle to make wind ambience. Well done.

The Omen does not need to be remade. Richard Donner did an awesome job with the original, so why bother.

The Superman movie coming this summer is NOT a remake, rather a continuation of the story after Superman 2. Bryan Singer has stated numerous times that he wishes to continue and honor Richard Donner's work. He even is going as far as to keep alot of John Williams original score in this new one. Singer also said that he feels 1 & 2 are the only valid Superman films which is why RETURNS picks up about 5 years after #2. 3 & 4 SUCK MAJOR BALLS!

The made for TV movie was horrible! The book was totally different. I believe the TV movie had the anti-christ reborn as a little girl.

This is a film that I'll most likely never see.
    If...

Ron loves a film = don't even rent.
