who's seen it?
what did you think of it?

Think i'll put it in tonight, haven't watched it since buying the 2disc couple years ago.

I would have to say it's in my top 5, just behind Godfather I/II & Dances W/Wolves

oh and I'd just like to add that Forrest Gump did not deserve to win the Best Director/Picture oscars for that year. Thank you very much.

Got it on the shelf and watch it often. One of the few Stephen King stories that Hollywierd didn't butcher.

Agreed, one of the best. Can't say I agree about Gump though. It would be tough to pick between the two for me, they're both great.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Both FG and SR are great movies, both would deserve an Oscar but Academy Awards are overrated anyways. It's good however to see SR get the recognition it deserves from the audience.

Hey, don't diss Gump. I'll have to cut ya ;)

The Shawshank Redemption is a terrific film. Masterpiece. Classic. That and The Green Mile. That electrocution scene is still one of the most shocking I've ever seen in a film, no pun intended.

Shawshank is one of the best movies ever. Like you said for me it is up there with Godfather 1 and 2. IMDB's poll of favorite movies seems to indicate the same with both movies trading off the #1 and #2 spots every so often. Goes to show how box office and oscars arent the only important factors in successful movies, gives me some faith in people nowadays :)

so often, in fact, that i believe at any given moment it is playing on a TV station (big or small) somewhere in the continental US
and that if at any point in time, it ceased playing... the universe would collapse in on itself
kind of like a Christmas Story during the holidays, but on an inifinite scale
but for some reason, i'll continue to watch it and never be bored
    awesome flick :D
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Watched it once. Good movie but didn't do much for me. Not one I'd ever consider buying.

Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.
