It only took a lifetime but it was worth it. ClearAudio Champion 2 with an SME 309 arm and a Benz Micro Glider. :)

The table is clear acrylic. I laid a cold cathode neon tube behind the table on the isolation platform. The kind used to light up computers. Kind of geeky but it still looks cool. :D

Broken in ? Hell I only unboxed it about 5 hours ago, setup time and time with the family. I've only listen to three records. It's going to take some time to break in. Now for initial playing it is SAWEET! Super clean and crisp. My albums never sounded so good.

As for why, I wanted the look that ClearAudio has. The SME 309 arm IMHO is the best thing going right now. The glider was a deal.

I was kinda wondering about that. Seemed to me that it is slightly out-classed by the rest of the rig. Either way that's a nice setup.

Hope you get lots of enjoyment out of it!

    Keep us posted. :)

Yep the Rega Planar 3 running a AudioNote IQ-2 on a Moth RB250 modified with the stainless weight assembly from a RB300, Expressimo VTA adjuster and RCA lines replaced with some wicked little braided shield coax is just sitting on my audio bench in the back room now. I can send you some pics if you like, let's talk ( I could use the cash now :o )

    Hmmm... Nice entry level table...

Hey, I just had to say that! When I first got my setup I heard the same from another fellow who helped me put it together. I was a little put off at the time but I remember the quote now with fond memories. He was refering of course to the top end cost no object crowd. In these days of $100K setups I understand what he was trying to say. I don't know, I just thought it was cool how he set my perspective.

Absolutely AWESOME setup wardsweb!!! I'm glad to see you are still around here. It has been quite some time since I've picked up on your posts. This lp stuff is cool, huh?

I lurk a lot, but felt this deserved a post. Gotta show off a bit you know. Seriously though, I like all audio in it's many forms. I'm heavy into DIY; have tube and solid state gear; CD, MP3, and vinyl; electrostats, horns and conventional speakers. It's all about the journey and not the destination.

Hey Wardsweb, could you send me a full sized pic? I've been thinking about putting together a pictorial of different tables and that would make an awesome cover page!
