Sub hooked up to CD Player

I have my active sub hooked up to a second set of inputs on my CD player because my int. amp does not have sub outs. Works great, but I haven't quite figured out how and why it works. OK, here's my question -- does the amp play any role at all in the signal going the sub? The reason I ask is because when I turn up (or down) the volume on the amp, the sub's bass volume increases (or decreases) accordingly. Can anyone explain?
HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50” LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I believe you mean 'outputs'. And that is an interesting note about how the sub's volume increases when you turn up the integrated's volume. Does that happen now that the sub is hooked up to the CDP?

Simple question. If you had a cool million bucks, what would you do with it?

Hm...This is interesting. I see no way that the amp could affect the RCA's on the cd player, unless somehow they can affect RCA voltage.
