Anybody using Light Bulbs?

Hi again,
Just wondering if anybody is using the "hook a light bulb in series with the speaker" for moderate speaker protection. I've heard it a couple of times from news, and a pro-studio technician and the concept sounds tempting.
Also wondering about if there is any significant power loss runing it through such a varibly resistive load.
Anyway, next time I get to a homecenter, may just pick up the parts and give it a try....

ps... I wonder if different brands of bulbs, add a different colour to the sound... hahaha... maybe coloured bulbs?

I can't tell you how many old console radios I've opened up, and found a lightbulb wired up inside. Never seen it done on a speaker.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.
