after re-reading, those who spoke of the older RTxxxi models are right on.

Keep your center and get a pair of Polk RT600i's if floorstanders are what you're looking for.
If you want bookshelf speakers- get some RT35i's.

Forget about the new model Rti and FX speakers. You should make timbre matching your front 3 as your #1 priority.

Once (if) you tire of the Bose, then for surrounds look into getting a pair of fx300i or fx500i's. They will match with a cs400i/rt600i setup.

If you're happy with the sound coming from your Velodyne, Bose and Kenwood, then I say keep them. If I had a dollar for everytime someone on here posted an svs homepage link i'd be able to buy new LSi's, yet I still keep my Velo because i'm happy with it and can honestly say it's better than 80% of what's out there: and that's good enough for me. Again, as long as you're happy with what you have that's all that matters.

The rt600i's and fx300i/500i's can be found on ebay, audiogon for relatively cheap compared to their newer generation fellows.
    Good luck.

I found a brand new pair of RT2000i on EBay...apparently they are still in the box and never hooked up...

Would these be overkill for me?

also what would you pay for the following used:

    rt800i
    rt1000i

    thanks

There's no such thing as overkill around here. :D

I'd say a max of around 50% of MSRP is good rule of thumb for speakers a few years old.

    krabby5,
I have a pair of LSi9’s in “LIKE NEW” condition that I would like to sell for $650.00. That would leave you $350.00 left from your budget. Use that money to buy an LSiC for your center channel. You could sell your present center channel on Ebay and put a couple of bucks back in your pocket and have an excellent front stage.
I still have the original box, all packing materials and all paper work. The speakers are in a cherry wood finish and I bought them new in September.
I have never sold anything here before, but you can check out my 100% positive feedback on Ebay.
If you are interested let me know.
    Thanks,
    Bill G
